Please allow 1-3 business days for request to be processed by the Registrar's Office.

Once the course(s) has been approved to transfer via this request, please verify with your advisor that the course(s) will apply to your degree requirements prior to registering at another college or university.

Grades for transfer credit must be at least 1.7 (C-) or higher.  Each transferred course is recorded with a grade of "TR" and is not calculated in the grade point average.

A maximum of 75 semester hours of transfer credit will be accepted for coursework taken at two-year institutions, college-level examinations, the military, and/or advanced placement courses.  This maximum increases to 90 semester hours if from a four-year baccalaureate institution.

Courses not having specific equivalence to a Fitchburg State University course will come in as a 'Transfer Elective', but may have the designated attributes you need.

When coursework is completed, have an official transcript(s) sent to the Registrar's Office.

Repeating courses after a passing grade or audit
A student may repeat once any Fitchburg State University course for which a 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, or AU is earned. Courses must be taken at Fitchburg State University and, if at all possible, should be taken within the following year.  Students may petition the Dean of Student and Academic Life to repeat courses at other colleges.

A separate form should be submitted for each individual college/university you plan to attend.
